We begin on the mission of building this Meditation Hall as a family, to bring peace and comfort to all those who come. This space of peace will inspire many to return to their own communities and spread the message of love, caring and compassion. By strengthening and inspiring the individual we look to create a stress-free, violence free society.
Established in 1991, the International Art of Living Centre in Canada has been a place of education and inspiration for the local and global community. The Centre is located in the beautiful Mauricie region of Quebec and provides a sanctuary of peace and natural beauty. The grounds provide a peaceful and serene natural environment with 250 acres of woods and lakes.
The Centre offers a variety of programs and activities which have been developed by the AOLF to promote harmony and uplift society by strengthening and empowering individuals. In particular, the Centre is home to teacher training programs, which empower volunteers to further the work of the organization.
As the AOLF continues to grow and the Canadian Art of Living Centre approaches its 20-year anniversary, interest in its programs is stronger than ever before. The new facility, the Sri Sri Centre for Peace and Inspiration, will be located on the beautiful grounds of the international centre, overlooking the pristine lake. The striking design of the building combines the best of Eastern and Western architecture featuring Indian carved pillars, vaulted cathedral ceilings, and many windows offering a panoramic view of the surroundings. The entrance in the East will be adorned with carved stone and wood, connecting to a large verandah that will encircle the whole building. Drawing its energy from solar, geo-thermal, and wind power, this building will be eco-friendly and has been designed according to the principles of Vaastu Shastra, the ancient Vedic science of construction that guides the creation of positive and uplifting spaces. With the capacity to comfortably seat 2000 people and equipped with the latest audio/visual technology, this Centre will be ideal space for hosting workshops and conferences. It will serve as a platform for individuals and organizations to come together and exchange ideas and understanding.
